1. Ensure That Users & Search Engines Can See Your Content

Check search engine crawl error pages

Create and monitor your robots.txt file

2. Ensure That Content Is Viewable

Check your site in a browser without images and Javascript support

Ensure that all important navigation in your site is HTML, not images

Check that all images include ALT text

3. Be Descriptive

Make sure each page has unique title and meta description tags

Ensure all important page elements are HTML

Make sure that targeted keywords are included in your page content

4. Keep Your Site Crawlable

Don't use frames

Make sure your server is returning a 404 error code for unfound pages

Ensure that crawlers will not fall into infinite loops
